A tremendous baseball player ` a tremendous person, 24 year old Jose Fernandez, forever to rest in the heavens above Marlins Park

The Miami Marlins host the New York Mets. Prior to tonight's game a solemn ceremony honoring Jose Fernandez, a fallen teammate, taken from this earth too young on September 25, 2016.

The Marlins all wore the #16 and Fernandez on their jerseys for their tribute to a great pitcher, great teammate and wonderful friend who will be missed by many. All of the MLB teams had a moment of silence for a fellow player. Some hanging his jersey in the dugout, his number inscribed on their caps, his presence forever to remain in their hearts. A young man that had so much potential in this profession taken from this life way too soon.

Marlins lead-off Dee Gordon sends the leather out of the park to put the "Fish" on the board in the first inning. In my opinion, Jose is having a very proud moment.

The game is currently into the sixth inning, the Marlins are leading the Mets, 7-2. Would it not be a miracle, indeed, if the Marlins were to end their night with 16 runs? God Bless the Fernandez family, the Marlins teammates and organization. May special memories sustain you all as a "family." Thoughts and prayers to all.  Good-bye, Jose, and may you rest In peace.
